This is one of the cryptic-coloration Ardisia, in that it is a dark earth tone which can camouflage it among a dark forest floor.

Higher humidity is preferred. I grow one outdoors, so it can handle warm tropical climate regimes. This plant will do great in a terrarium. in both conditions it is fairly slow growing.
